"Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21, AMP At the end of 2019 I preached about breakthrough. We were entering a new decade according to the Hebrew calendar and a lot of people got very excited about this because this decade promised special strength, the ability to speak what God would have us say, and that we would see victory and breakthrough. I shared that at the end of October 2019 and then everything changed for all of us. And for a while, I thought I’d preached wrong. I worried I’d misled people. But, in the middle of all the sorrow, confusion and anger of the last year, the Holy Spirit has kept us. He has opened our eyes to injustice and inequality. He has inspired us to find other ways to deepen our relationship with God and each other. We have heard God’s heart. He has broken through. There’s a real danger you can miss breakthrough because you’re not looking in the right places for it. You must be expectant that not only will God do immeasurably more than you ask or think but that he will move in ways you don’t expect. This is key to your resilience. Don’t miss your breakthrough just because it doesn’t look how you think it should look. Let’s pray Father, open my eyes so I see what you are doing in my life and the lives of others. Help me to see clearly where you are at work and where you are breaking through into my thinking, my heart and my actions. Have your way, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen. Want more?
