“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labour; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.” Isaiah 54:1-3, NIV

We need to understand the Trinity’s passion for and commitment to more. All three persons of the Godhead have an endless capacity for more. If they hadn’t there wouldn’t be 23 species of coconut in the world or things about the cosmos we know we don’t know!

It seems contradictory of the Father to tell a barren woman in a society that despised infertility to sing. But he has more for her. Society might exclude her, but he sees her as integral to his purpose and able to have an enduring impact on the world.

With God you can achieve a life that exceeds every earthly expectation. When you follow Jesus, the Spirit empowers and equips you to do the impossible, reach higher, embrace resilience, and go further than you can imagine. What’s holding you back today from receiving more? God hasn’t set any limits. Why have you?

Let's pray
Father, make my life a lasting legacy. Stretch me for your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
