“Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” Exodus 14 21-22, NIV I said in an earlier post that sometimes God does his best work in the dark. He speaks over the chaos, works through the night, brings salvation from the womb, brings resurrection from the tomb. Our God neither slumbers nor sleeps and when we’re going through challenging, dark times (or those closest to us are or we're carrying a burden for the world) it is imperative we hold on to the truth. Resilience trusts that his favour lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Whenever Aaron the High Priest went into the God’s holy place, he wore a breastplate with jewels on it engraved with the names of God’s people. They were on his heart. Now our great High Priest, Jesus is at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. Our names on his heart, too. Hold on! One day Jesus will call you out of that dark place just as he called Lazarus out of the tomb. "Come out!" Even death has to submit to the call of Jesus. Let's pray Today we’re going to use one of my favourite Bethel worship songs for our prayer: God I look to You, I won’t be overwhelmed, give me vision to see things like you do. God I look to you, you're where my help comes from, give me wisdom, you know just what to do. And I will love you Lord my strength, and I will love you Lord my shield, and I will love you Lord my rock, forever all my days I will love you God. Amen. Want more?
