Proverbs 18:16, NIV A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. God has given you specific gifts to use for His glory. You are integral to his Kingdom purposes and can reach people in a way no one else can. Your gifts are unique to you. Don’t look at what someone else can do and wish that was you. They’re them. You’re you.
And your gifts make a difference. God’s economy is not the same as that of the world. Just think of Billy Graham. A woman led him to Jesus not knowing the impact he would have on the world. She was faithful. And, that’s all you need to be. You may not see the effect of your actions and words, but there will be an effect. God’s word does not return to him void. So how does your gift make room for you and bring you before great men? Well, there is element of this we have no control over. Psalm 44:3 says “For they [God’s people] did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your countenance, because you favoured them.” We have God’s favour - His unmerited, unearned, undeserved grace! This means that even if we are not the smartest, strongest, most knowledgeable person in the natural, God can still give us success. And it is his doing not ours. But there is a part of your future that is down to you. There’s no question, the more we use our gift, the stronger and more powerful it becomes and the sharper and more tuned in to God we get. And over time as you become excellent in your gift, it gets noticed by others. And as you prove trustworthy, God will open doors for you. So, take a look today at your gift. Agree you have one and see where you can start to exercise it better.
